Career Plus

Career Plus

Career Plus is a program that was designed to assist at-risk students who have fallen behind in credits. Participating students receive the academic courses as well as the opportunity to complete a technical program by attending Carver as an all-day student.

The school counselor or administrator may recommend a student as a possible candidate for admission to the Career Plus Program. The home school will refer the recommended students to the administrators at Carver. Student’s grades, transcripts, attendance, and discipline records will be available before the Carver administrators schedule an interview with the student and parent. Career Plus students will remain on the roll of the home high school. They will have all the privileges that any student at their high school is afforded.

Each student and parent will be required to sign a contract regarding discipline, grades, attendance, and safety requirements. Accepted students will have the opportunity to stay in Career Plus until graduation requirements are met. If it is determined that a student is in violation of his or her contract at Carver, the student may be returned to the home high school.

We are very proud of our successful Career Plus Program. It is gratifying to see students develop; attain skills in a vocational-technical program and to graduate from high school.
