ECCAT is a comprehensive 600-hour program that meets the West Virginia Department of Education certification requirements for Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teachers. ECCATs work in daycares and early childhood classrooms: Preschool/PreK, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, and 3rd Grade. ECCATs support lead teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate educational curriculum that includes reading/literacy, language development, numeracy, creative expression, social/emotional development, and indoor/outdoor activities. Additionally, ECCATs will support safety, professionalism, parental involvement, and positive culture at all levels within the facility/school.
