Kanawha County Schools would like to say thank you to Kanawha County voters for supporting the renewal of the district’s excess school levy and the opportunities it provides for students.

“On behalf of Kanawha County Schools, I extend my sincere appreciation to the voters who supported the renewal of our excess school levy,” Dr. Potter wrote. “Your continued confidence in public education reflects a shared commitment to our children, our schools, and the future of our community.”

The renewed levy allows KCS to continue providing meaningful academic opportunities while expanding programs in robotics, career and technical education, athletics and extracurricular activities.

It also strengthens the district’s ability to support students academically, socially and emotionally, retain dedicated employees, and maintain safe, welcoming learning environments.

“Most importantly, your investment creates opportunities for students to discover their talents, develop confidence, pursue their interests, and prepare for successful futures,” Dr. Potter continued.

With that support comes a responsibility to remain responsible stewards of these resources. KCS will continue working every day to improve educational experiences and outcomes for all students.

“Thank you, Kanawha County, for believing in our students, supporting our educators, and recognizing that strong public schools help build strong communities,” Dr. Potter wrote.
