Course Description: The Principles of Business concentration focuses on careers that facilitate business operations through a variety of administrative and clerical duties including information and communication management, data processing and collection, and project tracking. Students will study business law and ethics, business and marketing essentials, and entrepreneurship.
This semester-based program is designed to prepare students for a national certification exam in each software package offered (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook) and with skills for a variety of entry-level positions in business areas. You will also use and study the Windows operating system and use tools to prepare for the national exams. Carver’s program is an authorized training and testing center for certifications in Microsoft Office Specialists (MOS).
In addition to this course, students may choose to take a second-course Marketing Management to further their studies and earn another certification the following year.
